Intent
Preserve subject authority and composition by art-directing crop, focal position, or alternate media for materially different viewport shapes.
Checks
- Inspect the actual container crop at wide desktop, short laptop, narrow mobile, and short mobile or landscape profiles.
- Change focal position, composition, or asset when products, faces, labels, or essential silhouettes are cut.
- Keep alternate media semantically equivalent and provide correct alternative text behavior.
Warnings
- A responsive image source alone does not solve composition when every source has the same unsafe framing.
Exceptions
- An abstract texture or fully repeating field may use one source when no focal subject needs preservation.
